Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
For Francis, our Pope, and __, our Bishop. May they lead with fearlessness. May mercy and love be made known in their service.
We pray to the Lord.
For courage in our lives of faith. May all people be opened to God’s faithfulness and fidelity. May we serve with love and act with justice.
We pray to the Lord.
For people discouraged in their jobs or vocations. May every heart be filled with hope for the future and may we use our gifts and talents for our common good.
We pray to the Lord.
For peace amid nations at war. May every nation be open to paths of healing, forgiveness and integrity.
We pray to the Lord.
For people lost in the darkness of despair. May we serve people who have given up hope in their daily lives. May darkness become light, and fragility be turned into the strength of God.
We pray to the Lord.
For courage to speak truth. May our hearts not become numb to the beauty of God. May we speak God’s truth as we hear the beauty of his voice and realize his presence.
We pray to the Lord.
For our children and their children. May we speak only good and encourage the next generation. May we open our hearts, our ears and our voices in praise for the gift of life.
We pray to the Lord.
For people facing illness, disease and medical treatments. May we rest in God’s assurance of love, and may we tend to the hearts of people in turmoil.
We pray to the Lord.
For our beloved dead. May we entrust our loved ones to the face of Christ Jesus. May our grief be eased in faith and hope for people who rest in eternal life.
We pray to the Lord.
