Dear Fr. Ron,
Thank you for your reflections! I will be praying for the new Pope, that he will continue the legacy of Pope Francis! I remember how novel it was, when Pope John-Paul I, just in his name, signaled a continuity with Vatican II reforms in the direction of the church. “What’s in a name?” said Shakespeare, and yet, I think if the new pope chooses “Francis II” that would be very telling! I love Peter’s enthusiastic love of the Lord, in that he was the only one who dove in and swam to shore to greet Jesus…the emotion he must have felt in that moment! I pray that we can always live with that kind of love, a ‘reckless abandon’ in following Jesus.
