Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Leo, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop. May God open their hearts to serve the least among us. May Christ nourish their prayer and service.

We pray to the Lord.

For courage to widen our perspectives of peace. May we seek the lost and forgotten, those behind bars and those bound by addiction. May peace flourish in every heart.

We pray to the Lord.

For a deeper view of faith and justice.  May God’s love within us be revealed in our words, actions and ways of life. May we entrust our lives to the Holy Spirit.

We pray to the Lord.

For people seeking employment. May we all find work that sustains our lives and engages our talents.

We pray to the Lord.

For survivors of storms, floods and fires in these summer months. May they entrust their future to God’s protection. May we reach beyond our neighborhood to restore the lives of people who most need us.

We pray to the Lord.

For students who begin a new school year. May our youth find inspiration, courage and joy in the classrooms. May they use their skills and talents for the common good.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones who are ill. May God embrace the sick, the discouraged and the lonely. May our love and service comfort the sick.

We pray to the Lord.

For courage to forgive those who hurt us. May God instill hope in all relationships. May the Holy Spirit teach us how to love.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May God comfort the souls of the dead. May we not forgot those who have loved us on earth.

We pray to the Lord.
