Twenty-Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Leo, our Pope. May he live and serve in authentic love. May his leadership enkindle within us a true desire for God’s solace and merciful presence.

We pray to the Lord.

For healing among us who are overwhelmed by conflict and injustice, cruelty and viciousness. May God invite us to listen to the quiet of our hearts. May we silence our phones and stop our hateful rhetoric.

We pray to the Lord.

For our children and for our next generation. May we educate our youth in God’s fidelity and love. May the competing voices in our society not blur the message of God’s healing forgiveness and compassion.

We pray to the Lord.

For courage to lead in times of unrest and division. May God lead us all into actions of kindness and generosity. May uncertainty in life be turned into conviction of faith and hope.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who are ill. May God provide healing grace for people overwhelmed by body and emotional pain. May God’s love become food for us in our uncertainty and fear.

We pray to the Lord.

For our elderly who have been scammed in our society. May God comfort those who have been divested of their life savings. May we have the courage to stop violence among vulnerable people.

We pray to the Lord.

For people in need of health insurance and adequate housing. May our faith communities speak out for people in need of the basics of life. May God offer compassion for us to build shelters and healthy futures.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who grieve. May every loss under heaven be healed. May our hearts turn to God’s love and tenderness in every moment of loss and sorrow.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our loved ones who have died find love and comfort in God’s promise of heaven.

We pray to the Lord.
