Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Leo, our Pope and ___, our Bishop. May our leaders acknowledge human suffering and be humbled in the healing presence of Jesus Christ.

We pray to the Lord.

For people separated from community because of illness or disease. May we reach out beyond the boundaries of our fear to anoint the lost with compassion. May the hearts of the sick be filled with hope.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who live in fear and mistrust. May our hearts know only gratefulness. May our lives be steadied with kindness and empathy.

We pray to the Lord.

For all caregivers and those who support the sick. May those who wash the bodies of the ill find their own cleansing in faith. May those who sit at the bedside of the diseased find compassion and support in Christ Jesus.

We pray to the Lord.

For peace in our world. May all leaders tend to the suffering of their people. May all conflict find resolution and may violence end. May hope become food for all nations.

We pray to the Lord.

For people in need of reconciliation. May we support our loved ones who have journeyed beyond our friendship or family center. May we be united in love and gratefulness.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who are stripped of dignity. May prisoners find true inner freedom in Christ Jesus. May refugees find security and home. May our beloved poor find daily food and dignity in Christ Jesus.

We pray to the Lord.

For all people who grieve. May we tend to the tears of those who weep for deceased loved ones. May we all discover hope in our faith community.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May the souls of our loved ones find true home in Christ Jesus in heaven.

We pray to the Lord.
