Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Leo, our Pope. May God inspire all leaders to turn toward love and compassion. May hope be born in all who lead us in faith.

We pray to the Lord.

For peace in every nation and land. May God restore true dialogue among enemies. May hope be found in the lives of God’s beloved poor and those who grieve from violence and war.

We pray to the Lord.

For genuine perseverance in our prayer. May we surrender to the gift of God’s presence and mercy. May we sing forever of God’s fidelity toward us.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who have walked away from God. May the Holy Spirit reveal hope among the aimless and lost. May we join God in search for all feel abandoned.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who have been abused by clergy or the institutional church. May Christ’s healing mend the hearts of the wounded. May God restore the lives of those who cry for help.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who study scripture in schools and universities. May every student know the grace and compassion of Christ, the Incarnate Word. May hope be found among the lived stories of God’s healing grace.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who suffer diseases of the mind. May people who suffer dementia be given sufficient healthcare and proper treatment. May hope be genuine for family members and loved ones.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who hold grudges and anger. May God’s healing be found in our hurts and in our rage. May love be our food and sustenance.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our communities sing of God’s mercy and fidelity even in the center of grief and loss.

We pray to the Lord.
