The Third Sunday of Lent, March 23. 2025, The Prayers of the Faithful

Third Sunday of Lent

March 23, 2025

For all who lead us in faith. May Francis, our Pope and __, our Bishop know the healing redemption of Christ Jesus. May they help us find hope among the evils of life.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who ache for a second chance in life. May God offer the sinner consolation and healing we all deserve. May this Lenten season bring us joy and peace.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who battle self-righteousness and entitlement. May we all be humbled by the passion, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus. May Lent challenge us as believers and loving people.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who are quick to act against a neighbor. May our threats and finger-pointing end and not condemn those around us. May we seek the healing authority of Christ Jesus. May hope bud within us in springtime.

We pray to the Lord.

For the discouraged and the angry. May we all be given another chance to find our lives in Christ Jesus. May we hear the voice of God and not the voices that put us down.

We pray to the Lord.

For our brothers and sisters who are ill. May God provide adequate healthcare to those who most need healing. May we get a second chance to live without pain.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who condemn others. May our eyes be open to the immigrant, the disabled, the mentally ill and those who live outside. May hope be the ground for all our growth and change.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who need to trim away sin, regret and shame. May we all find in Christ the truth of God’s healing love for every human being under heaven.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our loved ones remain in our hearts during the Lenten season. May solace rise within us as they find their home in heaven.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who hike the high mountains of faith and change. May we put one foot ahead of another in this Lenten season to bring us to new life, courage and love.

For people who are discouraged by their lives. May faith unite us with Christ so to walk fearlessly along the perils of life. May we walk together unreservedly.

For people who sit in darkness and wait for something more. May we be light among people who have lost housing, education and security amid the fires, storms, floods and natural disasters.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who have lost employment in these past months. May they find adequate jobs to support their families and future security.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who walk with shame and regret. May this Lenten season bring hope to people bowed down by the past. May faith help us listen to the Father’s love.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our loved ones rest in the face of Christ Jesus.
