Twenty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time

For our leaders in faith, Francis, our Pope, and __, our Bishop. May they humbly welcome the word of God in their lives to deepen their service among people.

We pray to the Lord.

For reconciliation and peace in our world. May wars cease and conflict melt away as we practice hope in our earthly lives.

We pray to the Lord.

For truth and fidelity in our relationships. May we practice what we preach and remain faithful to God’s command to love one another.

We pray to the Lord.

For those who teach and instruct our children. May this school year bring new awareness of the needs of humanity to inspire our children in the common good.

We pray to the Lord.

For hope among people living with despair. May we listen attentively to the stories of grief and loss, of neglect and misfortune. May kindness be lived among strangers and friends.

We pray to the Lord.

For the end of hypocrisy and violence. May sarcasm be tempered and angry diminish. May integrity mend every relationship under heaven.  

We pray to the Lord.

For people lost among homelessness and addiction. May housing be affordable for all people, and sobriety inspire hope in family relationships.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who are ill and in need of medical care. May our loved ones find courage in every illness and disease. May healing be welcome in every human heart.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones who have died. May our beloved dead find true shelter in the love of God for all eternity.

We pray to the Lord.

Twenty-First Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Francis, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop. May the good news of Christ Jesus form our leaders and give them words to speak that remain true and kind.

We pray to the Lord.

For people shunned by society. May all people find housing to protect their future. May all people be welcome in our worshipping assemblies. May the gospel become food for all who search for love.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who hesitate to learn God’s language of love. May we boldly proclaim the gospel of justice and live the language of God’s healing and mercy.

We pray to the Lord.

For reconciliation and peace among our families. May these summer months bring reassurance to family life. May we learn to listen more closely to people we love.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who proclaim the gospel. May we all protect God’s authority given us in baptism. May our words and actions unite people in peace.

We pray to the Lord.

For the end of war. May God give us the courage to help people rebuild their lives from the ashes of violence and destruction. May God provide healing for the future.

We pray to the Lord.

For people living with disability and illness. May Christ Jesus provide comfort to those worn down by pain and fear.  May God protect and heal them.  

We pray to the Lord.

For people who face difficult decisions. May Christ direct our daily lives. May we listen to God’s voice in times of adversity and fear.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones who have died. May our loved ones find joy in the face of Christ Jesus.

The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

For Francis, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop. May courage override fear in supporting and serving the people of God.

We pray to the Lord.

For people bound in fear. May Mary give us joy upon the earth. May her intercession help us look forward to our home with Christ Jesus in heaven.

We pray to the Lord.

For people heartbroken by loss. May we serve people who have lost homes, jobs and secure futures from storms, fires and floods. May we build new lives from the ground of hope.

We pray to the Lord.

For people most in need of visitors and friends. May the ill and the prisoner find a window of joy from the visits of friends and strangers. May we gladden lives with compassion and presence.

We pray to the Lord.

For the lowly and poor of our society. May God lift people up who are humbled by loss, financial distress and homelessness.

We pray to the Lord.

For children who have run away from family.  May we listen to the needs of our children and protect them from all harm and abuse.

We pray to the Lord.

For people starving for food and satisfaction. May God fill the hungry with good things and teach us always to support people most in need.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones in nursing homes or who are bedridden. May God visit them with protection, ease their fear of dying, and shelter their loss.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones who have died. May God receive our beloved dead and shelter them in love in the Kingdom of God.

Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For all who lead us in faith. May Francis, our Pope, and __, our Bishop live in the joy of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist. May they feed all people who long for hope and daily sustenance.

We pray to the Lord.

For people searching to make sense out of life. May the Eucharist offer us wisdom to shelter the discouraged of heart. May wisdom flourish in our lives as we feast at the altar of salvation.

We pray to the Lord.

For the good and well-being of our earth. May we learn to cultivate our soil with care for food for the future. May our earthly home continue to provide for our lives and for our children’s future.

We pray to the Lord.

For our common hunger of integrity and justice. May we feed on all good as we seek work, family life, and education in our daily lives. May God nurture us with eternal hope.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who serve our common good. May farmers, construction workers, administrators, housekeepers, food service employees, all find sufficient daily wage and joy in their essential service.

We pray to the Lord.

For our children who prepare for another school year. May our young discover their true gifts. May their talents be nourished and supported by teachers and family members.

We pray to the Lord.

For our politicians and those who seek service in public life. May we benefit from their integrity and their lives committed to our common good.

We pray to the Lord.

For wisdom upon the earth. May our every action, our education, our careers, our vocations all reflect heavenly wisdom. May the wise teach us how to live and how love.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May God receive our loved ones who have died. May wisdom flourish in us who long for such a place in the kingdom.
