Twenty-Ninth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Leo, our Pope. May God inspire all leaders to turn toward love and compassion. May hope be born in all who lead us in faith.

We pray to the Lord.

For peace in every nation and land. May God restore true dialogue among enemies. May hope be found in the lives of God’s beloved poor and those who grieve from violence and war.

We pray to the Lord.

For genuine perseverance in our prayer. May we surrender to the gift of God’s presence and mercy. May we sing forever of God’s fidelity toward us.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who have walked away from God. May the Holy Spirit reveal hope among the aimless and lost. May we join God in search for all feel abandoned.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who have been abused by clergy or the institutional church. May Christ’s healing mend the hearts of the wounded. May God restore the lives of those who cry for help.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who study scripture in schools and universities. May every student know the grace and compassion of Christ, the Incarnate Word. May hope be found among the lived stories of God’s healing grace.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who suffer diseases of the mind. May people who suffer dementia be given sufficient healthcare and proper treatment. May hope be genuine for family members and loved ones.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who hold grudges and anger. May God’s healing be found in our hurts and in our rage. May love be our food and sustenance.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our communities sing of God’s mercy and fidelity even in the center of grief and loss.

Twenty-Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Leo, our Pope and ___, our Bishop. May our leaders acknowledge human suffering and be humbled in the healing presence of Jesus Christ.

We pray to the Lord.

For people separated from community because of illness or disease. May we reach out beyond the boundaries of our fear to anoint the lost with compassion. May the hearts of the sick be filled with hope.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who live in fear and mistrust. May our hearts know only gratefulness. May our lives be steadied with kindness and empathy.

We pray to the Lord.

For all caregivers and those who support the sick. May those who wash the bodies of the ill find their own cleansing in faith. May those who sit at the bedside of the diseased find compassion and support in Christ Jesus.  

We pray to the Lord.

For peace in our world. May all leaders tend to the suffering of their people. May all conflict find resolution and may violence end. May hope become food for all nations.

We pray to the Lord.

For people in need of reconciliation. May we support our loved ones who have journeyed beyond our friendship or family center. May we be united in love and gratefulness.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who are stripped of dignity. May prisoners find true inner freedom in Christ Jesus. May refugees find security and home. May our beloved poor find daily food and dignity in Christ Jesus.

We pray to the Lord.

For all people who grieve. May we tend to the tears of those who weep for deceased loved ones. May we all discover hope in our faith community.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May the souls of our loved ones find true home in Christ Jesus in heaven.

Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Leo, our Pope, and __, our Bishop. May our leaders help us grow in faith and service. May the seeds of love sprout in our parish communities. May justice flourish upon the earth.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who are lost in fear and darkness. May God’s love sprout hope in our distress. May our faith, the size of a mustard seed, console us in Christ Jesus.

We pray to the Lord.

For all immigrants and refugees. May we welcome every stranger and family in our land and neighborhood. May we affirm the dignity of human life in our nation.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who sow seeds upon the earth for our food.  May all who labor in our fields and factories find sufficient harvest for their wellbeing. May God reveal hope upon our earth.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who survive on streets or in deep woods. May every human life know protection under the roof of our care and concern. May hope spring up between the cracks of human poverty and fear.

We pray to the Lord.

For all orphans and abandoned children. May our next generation know support, education and consolation. May Christ embrace our runaway children and our undocumented youth.

We pray to the Lord.

For all imprisoned in our nation. May the innocent know our support and care. For families threatened by deportation. May God’s love prevail among us.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who grieve. For all who live in loss and uncertainty. May the Kingdom of Heaven be a sign of hope for all who have lost family members.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our loved ones find their eternal home in heaven.

Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For all who lead us in faith. May our voices proclaim God’s miraculous and gracious love. May we serve beyond our expertise and rely on God alone.

We pray to the Lord.

For foster children. May we restore belonging for children in families and communities. May we work diligently to provide shelter, education and food for children in need.

We pray to the Lord.

For our elderly poor. May we provide health insurance and adequate housing for our aging and ill. May God help us listen to the wisdom we share.

We pray to the Lord.

For all people at our doors. May we acknowledge our beloved poor who seek the basics of life. May we open our hearts and doors of our faith communities.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who face ridicule and injustice. May we use our voices to lift people from despair and harsh judgments. May we work to restore hope for our next generation.

We pray to the Lord.

For people living with disabilities. May we work to have equal access to all public buildings. May we open our doors in welcome for all people.

We pray to the Lord.

For lasting peace in every nation under heaven. May leaders of the world restore harmony and the common good.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who grieve. May we open our doors to people suffering loss and depression. May our hearts heal with love and compassion.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our loved ones find home in Christ Jesus. May they encounter Christ’s comfort and mercy.
