Second Sunday of Lent

March 16, 2025

For our beloved leaders in faith, Francis, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop. May they journey with us and lead us to the face of Christ Jesus. May they not lose their footing along the way of peace, forgiveness, and faith.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who seek the wonder of baptism at Easter. May we seek truth as we bask in the renewal of our baptism. May Christ’s passion, death and resurrection bring us to God’s kingdom.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who hike the high mountains of faith and change. May we put one foot ahead of another in this Lenten season to bring us to new life, courage and love.

We pray to the Lord,

For all who befriend the sick and the lonely. May we take the lost by the hand and help them stand on the firm foundation of Christ’s redeeming presence. May hope be the voice that heals our lives.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who are discouraged by their lives. May faith unite us with Christ so to walk fearlessly along the perils of life. May we walk together unreservedly.

We pray to the Lord,

For people who will receive the benefits of our almsgiving. May we generously help people who need food, clothing and a second chance. May our offerings become hope for others.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who sit in darkness and wait for something more. May we be light among people who have lost housing, education and security amid the fires, storms, floods and natural disasters.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who have lost employment in these past months. May they find adequate jobs to support their families and future security.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who walk with shame and regret. May this Lenten season bring hope to people bowed down by the past. May faith help us listen to the Father’s love.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May our loved ones rest in the face of Christ Jesus.

First Sunday of Lent

March 9, 2025

For all who lead us in faith. May Francis, our Pope and ___, our Bishop, discover rich grace and faith in this Lenten season. May compassion be on the lips of our leaders.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who await the waters of baptism at Easter. May this Lenten season prepare our catechumens for lives of prayer and service. May we all seek Christ in these days of reflection and conversion.

We pray to the Lord.

For people facing unexpected deserts from fires, floods and storms. May the unhoused find shelter. May children find new resources for education. May futures be built from our concern.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who bear the cross of Christ in their hearts. May the lonely and the fragile receive hope in the desert of Lent. May we speak of faith and all good as we journey toward Easter.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who suffer mental anguish. May the desert of Lent bring only consolation in faith. May we not despair as we express our deepest needs to God.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who trudge through deserts they cannot change. May the turmoil of cancer or undiagnosed disease, become ground for healing, love and peace. May God heal our wounds.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who are overwhelmed from temptation. May sin and destructive behaviors be forgiven in Christ Jesus. May our Lenten journey bring hope and healing to all people.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who grieve in the beginning of Lent. May our hearts rest on the mercy of Christ. May our sorrows be eased in God’s care for us.

We pray to the Lord.

For all the dead. May the desert journey on earth lead to the face of Christ Jesus forever in heaven.

Ash Wednesday

For Francis, our Pope and ___, our Bishop. For all who lead us in faith. For all who bear witness to the cross of Christ. May God heal Pope Francis of his infirmities.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who seek the waters of baptism at Easter. May the Lenten season rouse new hope for all who desire faith in Christ Jesus. May the path to Easter deepen our awareness of God’s love within us.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who shy away from following Christ. May our inner pain be healed in God’s mercy. May we follow the passion, death and resurrection of Christ Jesus with courage and integrity.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who do not believe they are good enough in God’s sight. May Christ welcome the insecure under the banner of the cross. May we know Christ’s healing mercy and live from such a fountain of grace.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who desire to pray. May we surrender to love along our path to Christ Jesus. May our hearts silently discover God’s mercy and tenderness.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who will benefit from our almsgiving. May we search our hearts and resources to care for people most in need.

We pray to the Lord.

For people starving for food and shelter. May we all feed on the miracle of God’s presence at the Eucharist and serve others with the basics of life.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who grieve their loved ones during this Lenten season. May our hearts be healed as our bodies are marked with the cross of salvation.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones who have died. May the cross on our foreheads remind us of the brevity of life. May our loved ones find true joy in heaven.

The Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

For Francis, our Pope. May his vision in this Jubilee Year bring harmony and zeal to our missionary efforts in the church. May his health be restored and his well-being be sustained.

For all who seek beauty and all good. May all artists, creatives, and designers cooperate with the grace of God. May beauty move our hearts toward God and bring us hope in our earthly lives.

We pray to the Lord.

For all public speakers, preachers, orators and teachers. May all who speak up for the common good bring peace to others. May our words inspire and offer good to our world.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who seek the good of others. May we not point out other people’s faults but speak only of hope and goodness. May we see ourselves and others in clear light.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who are ill. May our loved ones in hospitals know healing and peace. May God nourish the bodies that hold pain and loneliness.

We pray to the Lord.

For farmers, planters, harvesters and gardeners. May they find joy in the miracle of God’s creation. May we care for the seeds of the earth with gentleness and intention.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who wait for a new vision for their lives. May people in despair discover courage and love. May anxiety be eased in God’s fidelity.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who grieve the loss of love, relationship or stability. May we know the new growth of hope in our lives in our surrender to God’s presence and compassion.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who have died. May our loved ones find true joy in heaven. May they gaze upon the face of Christ Jesus.
