Third Sunday in Ordinary Time

For all who lead us in faith, especially Francis, our Pope and ___, our Bishop. May the Word of God be forever on their lips. May the Gospel find home in every human heart.

We pray to the Lord.

For all preachers of the Good News. May all who proclaim and preach the gospel find joy upon their lips and courage in the hearts.  May we all hear the gospel with joy and humility.

We pray to the Lord.

For all poets, writers, journalists, notetakers and students of words. May we care for our human languages with sincerity and purpose. May we communicate with integrity and listen carefully to the voiceless within our society.

We pray to the Lord.

For our children preparing for sacraments. May we advise our next generation with gentleness and invite our youth to open the pages of the gospel with enthusiasm and intention.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who bear body pain and illness. May we support our loved ones as we wait for God’s healing love.

We pray to the Lord.

For people bearing loss and grief from the Los Angeles fires. May we help build a future for people who have lost home and security.

We pray to the Lord.

For all people who despair about the future. May we speak honestly and boldly about our common human needs and concerns. May the prophetic voices of our day speak boldly about the dignity of humanity.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who grieve under heaven. May the past not keep us from living in the present with peace and love. May our future grow into what we sow today.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones who have died. May our beloved dead find security and home in the glory of heaven.

We pray to the Lord.
