Second Sunday of Easter

Prayers of the Faithful

For all who lead us in faith. May Francis, our Pope and ___, our Bishop courageously touch the wounds of the Body of Christ on earth. May they model service and consolation.

We pray to the Lord.

For our newly ordained priests in the Congregation of Holy Cross. May our young priests peer lovingly into the depths of human suffering so to find hope in Christ Jesus. May their prayer and service reveal holiness of life.

We pray the Lord.

For the end of war, violence and hatred in our world. May Easter rouse hope in us to serve people most in need. May we not shy away from the redeemed wounds of the Risen Christ.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who starve for love, integrity and justice. May we courageously support people who need Christ’s eternal presence. May God reveal to us the glory of faith and compassion.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who live in fear behind locked doors.  May our prisoners find freedom in faith. May people torn apart by dissension and discouragement find solace in this Easter season.

We pray to the Lord.  

For people who live with mental anguish. May we help ease the burdens of people who face despair and loneliness. May Easter give us new purpose here on earth.

We pray to the Lord.

For all artists, musicians and liturgical ministers. May Easter inspire praise of God and the joy of living. May artistic expression lead to vitality of prayer and service among us.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who grieve in Easter. May our experience of human frailty be eased by the care of Christ Jesus. May our pain be healed and our lives be made new in Easter.

We pray to the Lord.  

For our beloved dead. May our loved ones find joy in the eternal Kingdom of God. May Christ welcome all who have died with mercy and compassion.

Prayers of the Faithful

For all who lead us in faith, especially Francis, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop.  May we bask in the joy of Christ’s resurrection. May courage fill the hearts of all who lead us in prayer and service.

We pray to the Lord.

For the newly baptized. May Christ’s passion, death and resurrection offer peace and hope for all reborn in water the Holy Spirit.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who receive the Eucharist for the first time in Easter. May our adults and children receive the joy of the Real Presence of Christ.

We pray to the Lord.

For the courage to search for Christ. May the disciples inspire us to run toward the empty tomb. May Christ stir the hearts of all bowed down by despair and doubt.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who starve for justice and freedom. May our immigrants, prisoners, and survivors of war, find new hope in Christ Jesus. May we work diligently for the well-being of all nations.

We pray to the Lord.

For the future of our children on this Easter Day. May Christ bring genuine inner peace and comfort to our youth who may fear the future.

We pray to the Lord.

For our elders who live in poverty and hopelessness. May we face the needs of our people with courage. May we build homes and provide food for our neighbors who live outside.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who cannot afford education. May we provide for our youth the skills to make a living in our society. May Easter inspire us to serve beyond measure.

We pray to the Lord.

For our loved ones who have died since last Easter. May the dead find true home in the loving presence of Jesus Christ in heaven.

Prayers of the Faithful

For Francis, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop. May we set our hearts on the Body and Blood of our Savior. May all who lead us reveal prayer and service in the Church.

We pray to the Lord.

For all bishops, priests and deacons in this sacred Triduum. May all who blessed the sacred oils during the Chrism Mass find the healing touch of Christ Jesus.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who await full initiation in the Church. May we yearn for the healing waters of baptism and the joy of the Body and Blood of Christ Jesus.

We pray to the Lord.

For people whose feet are filthy. May we bend down to wash the feet of sojourners, immigrants, and those who have walked along the path of violence, war, and corruption. May we join people along the path of hope.

We pray to the Lord.

For all the sick and those who live in unfortunate circumstances. May we comfort the lost and those who wait for inner freedom, joy and peace along the path to Easter.

We pray to the Lord.

For our children who have been abused or trafficked in violence. May we support our young and offer hope for a new generation.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who are bedridden and who face depression and grief. May we reach out to people who cannot raise their heads or voices in praise of God.

We pray to the Lord.

For the hungry and those who cannot find true nourishment. May we delight in the sacred Eucharist. May we break the Body of Christ among those who starve for hope, peace and salvation.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May the Triduum bring us to our knees to honor the lives of people who have gone before us in faith. May peace reign in us and lead us to the joy of Christ Jesus.

Prayers of the Faithful

For Francis, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop. May they reveal the depth of Holy Week in their example of prayer and service.  

We pray to the Lord.

For the Elect who await the healing waters of baptism. May they know the redemptive love of Christ Jesus forever.

We pray to the Lord.

For our children who are bullied. May Christ comfort young people who are put down by words and threats. May hope rise in every fragile heart.

We pray to the Lord.

For all people who live in fear. May Holy Week bring peace to people who survive violence, hatred and war.

We pray to the Lord.

For people who cringe at the suffering of life. May we face our internal struggles with faith. May Christ heal our angst and restlessness.

We pray to the Lord.

For our families in this Holy Week. May we model Christ’s passion, death and resurrection in daily life. May the Paschal Mystery bring us freedom and joy.

We pray to the Lord.

For people suffering body pain in this Holy Week. May Christ ease the burdens brought by aging, ill health and lack of insurance. May Christ heal us along the path to hope.

We pray to the Lord.

For all prisoners and people confined to doubt, fear and anguish. May Christ ease the restlessness of people who ache for freedom.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May Holy Week rouse hope for all who grieve. May our loved ones now find joy in the face of Christ Jesus.

Prayers of the Faithful

For Francis, our Pope, and ___, our Bishop. May they receive the healing touch of Christ Jesus. May they extend such forgiveness to all people.

We pray to the Lord.

For us who live in circles of condemnation. May we seek the presence and touch of Christ Jesus. May we await healing to set our lives free.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who point fingers in rage and accusation. May Christ’s presence heal all who seek him. May reconciliation be in the hearts of all in turmoil and trauma.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who yearn for the healing waters of baptism. May our catechumens across the world wait in joyful hope for the healing mercy of the Risen Christ.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who live in trauma from past relationships. May Christ help us to stand up in the love of God and in the healing peace of faith.

We pray to the Lord.

For all whose bodies are weakened by illness. May the freedom of Christ’s healing touch be upon us who claim him as Savior. May we lift our heads and spirits in praise of God.

We pray to the Lord.

For young people who live in circles of neglect. May orphans and children in foster care know only goodness and healing. May hope flood the lives of our youth who feel most alone.

We pray to the Lord.

For all who live behind bars in small cells. May all the imprisoned know God’s strength and peace. May freedom be in our hearts and on our lips.

We pray to the Lord.

For our beloved dead. May peace reign in us on earth as our loved one enter eternal rest. May peace be a path to our heavenly home.
