Simeon took him into his arms and blessed God, saying, “Now Master, you may let your servant go in peace, for my eyes have seen your salvation, which you prepared in the sight of all the peoples, a light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory for your people Israel.” Luke 2
God of our longing,
I wait along with Anna and Simeon.
I long to see Jesus.
I ache to hold the Child of Light.
I want the same desire for Jesus that grew in the mind and heart of Anna and Simeon.
I want us to see for my self that Jesus is our hope and salvation.
Anna and Simeon, exhausted by dedication, stood in awe in the promised Light.
Anna and Simeon spoke truth to Mary that she would also bear sorrow as well.
Anna and Simeon speak beyond the walls of the Temple through the generations.
Their lives waited for love, for salvation, for the child, for hope that lasts.
Help us wait for miracles.
Give us courage to speak the truth.
Focus our lives only on the person of Jesus.
We wait patiently.
We wait to take in the beauty of our salvation.
We long to bask in the Light of Jesus.
