…After he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and lower your nets for a catch.” Simon said in reply, “Master, we have worked hard all night and have caught nothing, but at your command I will lower the nets.” …Jesus said to Simon, ” do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men.” When they brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed him. Luke 5:1-11

We can easily live on the surface of our lives. We are bothered by every disagreement, everything that does not go our way or every heartache and loss.

Jesus invites us to go deeper…to where the Spirit is…to where we find the grounding of our lives in faith, hope and love.  We go deeper as Peter did in order to catch an overflowing-nets-worth of fish. Now is the time to go deeper in your prayer, in your commitment to follow Christ Jesus.

Jesus invites us to follow him.  Jesus shows Simon Peter and us the abundance of life. Jesus also challenges us not to be afraid, even when we leave everything in order to follow the depths of Jesus’ love.

Are you willing to go deeper into your trust in Jesus?

Are you accepting the gifts Jesus has for you?

Can you believe that Jesus has abundance for you, in the depths of his love for you?
