A mother that I am I never thought of the gospel in this way. I have set with this and thought of this as a mother watching this story. I would be praying for the son that left that God would finally catch him and bring him home. I would be praying for the father that he would be able to forgive his son and be happy to see him if he came home. I would be praying for the oldest son for the way he feels and ask God to help him to come to an understanding for his father and brother for the way he feels. I would pray for myself to be patient and wait for God to work healing, forgiveness, love and peace in the family. This might take a lifetime. I would need hope and trust that in the end God would make all thing ok.
