About 40 years ago I told my husband I was going to keep a candle burning all of Advent for Jesus to come into our home. It was a time in our family when we needed to change our life. At Christmas my husband said lets keep the candle burning every day. I knew Jesus had come to our home. The candle still burns today for me. We have been through joys, sorrows, good time and difficult times.
I have moved 4 times and the candle is the last thing out of the house and the first thing in the new home. In death of our close family we light a candle for 30 days after their death. I know Jesus is always their with me at all times.
