Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion, Cycle A

Let us pray for well-trained tongues. May we speak the truth. May our words not condemn others but lift them to the healing power of Christ Jesus.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for people who cry out in the night. May we hear the echoes of those who speak only of their abandonment. May we harken to the pain that pierces the darkness.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for leaders of faith. May they carry the crosses of the marginalized and bring the weary the comfort of Jesus Christ.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray to empty ourselves of pride and self-righteousness. May every knee bend to the earth as we surrender to the miracles of God’s dedication and compassion toward us.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for people who weary under the weight of their cross. May we offer assistance to those whose lives are heavy with pain, illness, or despair.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray to kiss the beauty of the cross this Holy Week. May our lives not shun the circumstances in which new life is born. May we know in our hearts the crosses upon which we must surrender.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray not to deny Jesus Christ as Peter did. May we seek the love of Christ and be bold about our fidelity toward the way of the cross.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray to journey with Jesus Christ this Holy Week. May we invite the dying and rising of Jesus into our hearts and be willing to be formed by our most profound aspects of faith.

We pray the Lord.

Let us pray for our loved ones who have died. May we journey with those whose lives bore much pain and suffering. May Holy Week bring us consolation in the face of death. May our beloved dead rest in God’s Kingdom.

We pray to the Lord.
