Holy Thursday Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, Cycle A
For a new humility within our Church leaders. May they bend down to cleanse the feet and the consciences of us all. May they imitate the example of Jesus Christ who washed the feet of his followers.
We pray to the Lord.
For integrity in our search for Christ Jesus. May our voices challenge the strong and mighty and our lives demonstrate our desire to serve among the burdened, the outcast, and the unsheltered.
We pray to the Lord.
For all artists, musicians, authors, and liturgical ministers in this Holy Week. May we support those who help us pray with an open heart and loving spirit. May we sing of God’s love for every human heart.
We pray to the Lord.
For those who need emotional and physical assistance. May we wipe the runny noses of our toddlers, the tears of our weary teenagers, and the feet of our loved ones in nursing homes and in prisons.
We pray to the Lord.
For a rich and loving awareness of the Holy Eucharist. May we lift up the Body of Christ upon our altars. May we see Christ’s Body along the margins of society. May we feed others from the food we receive in faith.
We pray to the Lord.
For a lasting peace among enemies. May we find in our nation’s soul the desire for peace. May guns be silenced. May hope help us heal. May courage unite us for the future.
We pray the Lord.
For people who are preparing for Baptism at Easter. May we sing out in support for those who will surrender to God’s water of new life.
We pray to the Lord.
For families who wring their hands in fear for addicted children. May our youth who have been abused find courage to speak out for their lives. May the Eucharist call us into the world to serve without measure.
We pray to the Lord.
For our loved ones who have died. May the Triduum remind us of our home in heaven. May we rejoice with those who served and loved on earth.
We pray to the Lord.
