Pentecost Sunday

Prayers of the Faithful

Let us pray for our Church across every land and nation. May the fire of the Holy Spirit reveal courage and peace to every believer. May hope unite our many languages of praise and gratitude.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for the health and wellbeing of Francis, our Pope, and ____, our Bishop. May the hearts of our leaders find the fire of the Holy Spirit. May they lead with integrity and joy.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for a new vision of holiness. May we connect our worship and service among God’s beloved poor. May our outreach lead us to work untiredly for human welfare. May love be consistent among us.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for people who live in despair. May they discover new meaning and purpose for their lives. May hope abound in every human soul.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for people weighed down from illness and disease. May the sick be comforted by the grace of the Holy Spirit. May we all discover the healing of God’s love.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for people who have been traumatized by the Church. May those who have been abused by clergy and other leaders find healing. May we work diligently to help survivors discover solace and consolation.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for a new dream of peace for our world. May gunfire cease in every neighborhood and nation. May our bloody sidewalks be washed in kindness and generosity.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for our children and our children’s children. May the Holy Spirit ignite hope for our next generation. May our young find the joy of God and the beauty of their lives.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for our beloved dead.  May our loved ones on earth discover their home in heaven. May the Holy Spirit lead them to rest for all eternity.

We pray to the Lord.
