Dear Fr. Ron,
Thank you so much for your reflections on “voices” in the Priest magazine, and today’s homily about our need to keep Jesus as our focus especially as we age. I remember Fr. Nick Ayo spoke of that simple exercise of leaning against a wall, and feeling that physical support while pondering God’s support of us. One of the often used refrains for today’s Psalm is “Lord, on the day I called for help, you answered me.” I feel that as we grow older, it helps to recall all the times God came to help us, because for me it’s a reassurance that whatever my future holds, He will always be there with his saving help! And yet, like you said so well, this involves not a simple “quid pro quo”, but entry into an ever deepening mystery of faith for us. Thank you always for your ministry and for your help for all the men in the Holy Cross House community!
What a beautiful reflection. I pray for Priests each day. They are the bridge to heaven for God’s people. I need them to bring Word and Sacrament to me. I need them to help me to know God. Thank you for your being a Priest and thank all Priest for their vocation to bring God to his people.
