  1. Father Ron,

I also have those memories of places that are filled with hope, and youth. And, when I return they are not as good.

As an ‘old guy’, I still find them in a restored church, or on a quiet, two-lane road via my bicycle. I keep my eyes open all the time. That’s what you taught me – looking for those ‘slices of heaven’ in my daily life. Bill Carter

  2. What a beautiful reflection, Father Ron, in the spirit of the Laudato Si’! I’ve shared it to our private Laudato si’ Facebook page, which I welcome all to follow (look for our banner, the planet Earth on a leaf). We host a weekly interfaith, small group (and international!) Creation Care chat for half an hour on Thursdays on Zoom, through which we study the Eco Bible, the Laudato Si‘ encyclical, and other voices. This week we studied some Japanese shinto practices, such as repairing broken pots with gold, and forest bathing. I, too, love the daisies. In May we studied the wild and crazy, and always inspiring, life of St. Francis of Assisi, who, they say, preached to the flowers, and who always left a part of the garden alone, to grow wild, as God would want it.
