I am tongue-tied about saying goodbye to everyone at Saint Andre Bessette Church. This Sunday, May 19, the feast of Pentecost will be my last 10:00am Mass at the parish. For over eleven years, I have called this corner of 6th and Burnside home. Within this windowless chapel, I have celebrated such healing among so many people. I am truly grateful for the gift I have received. Thank you all for allowing me into your lives here, into your suffering, into your deep faith. Thank you.
I want to share the bulletin cover with you for this weekend. I struggle to say thank you. I hope you will read it with all my intention to express my gratitude.
Also, here is the article from the Catholic Sentinel about my departure.
I will move to Colorado Springs to become pastor at the Tri-Community Parishes in July after retreat and vacation and some time to process my nearly twelve years in Portland.
I will continue my writing and radio ministries in Colorado. I am excited to return to the parishes in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs and Cascade where I served in 1984-87.
