Prayers of the Faithful

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord

Let us pray for those who have received sacraments in the Easter season. May we support and encourage our sisters and brothers renewed in the sacramental waters of Baptism, in the oils of Confirmation, and at the Altar of the Lord.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for our recent graduates. May our children continue to express their voice, their creativity, in every life decision.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray to look into the eyes of our sick and lonely. May the ill find healing and may we bring compassion to all who bear the burden of illness and disease.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for people living in doubt and worry. May we all be renewed in faith and in the healing promise of Christ, our Savior. May anxiety within us melt away in the beauty of the Resurrection.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for people who grieve job loss, food security, protective healthcare, and the safety of insurance. May we all be protected in God’s love and providence on earth.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray to live our faith on solid ground. May we look ahead toward the needs of all people and live our dedication to Christ Jesus on earth.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for nations in the midst of wars and violence. May we work for peace in every land under the sun. May we learn to serve the needs of all who ache for peace.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for our children. May our young who have experienced sex trafficking, abuse of any kind, or the reality of living on the streets, find resources for education, food, housing, and healthcare.

We pray to the Lord.

Let us pray for our loved ones who have died. May those we have known on earth find home with the saints of heaven.

We pray to the Lord.
